What did pregnant women do before Lululemon? I think there was a lot of sweatpant wearing going on. Their pants are very comfortable even when pregnant but for some reason they have stopped making their maternity ‘Yummy Mummy’ workout tops. I went on the hunt for something similar and was lucky enough to find a source right here in Toronto called Maternity Activewear. They carry 2 lines that they manufacture themselves called ocean lily and chm and I was very impressed with the quality, fit and prices.
The main fabric they use is similar to the Lululemon Luon: thick, soft, stretchy while holding in any bits that might stick out :) Some of their workout tanks are made of a softer and more eco-friendly bamboo fabric that breathes nicely but under which you do need to wear a bra. Choose your regular pre-pregnancy size for the right fit if you are mainly carrying baby weight, although they are accomodating about returns and exchanges so no worries. They even have short and tall lengths in their pants to fit every leg out there. Check out their 3 in 1 Maternity Pant that is now on sale for $69 online. If you know anyone that is pregnant, these pieces would make an excellent gift, even if they don’t do yoga. Free shipping over $100 makes it even more appealing. I bought the black zip front jacket, the cross V yoga tank, the red cross front tank, and the y racer sports tank - I love them all and since I work from home, they have become my go-to daily uniform. Enjoy.
